Interview question generator
Build a question set for your next interview in thirty seconds — by stage and by what you actually need to test. Every question annotated with what the answer reveals.
1. What will your current manager miss most about you — and what won't they miss?
Listen for: Balanced self-view in one question; the second half is where the honesty lives. (Self-awareness)
2. This job involves a lot of [core activity]. Tell me about your closest sustained experience with it.
Listen for: The central competence gate, on evidence rather than confidence. (Competence)
3. Tell me about the piece of work you're proudest of. Walk me through your specific contribution.
Listen for: Peak competence plus honesty about their share of team work. Probe the 'we' answers. (Competence)
4. What's something you built or improved that outlasted your time in the role?
Listen for: Whether they build systems or just complete tasks. Durable work is the best single predictor of more durable work.
5. What's a popular opinion in your field that you disagree with?
Listen for: Independent thinking and courage. Weak candidates name a safe, fake disagreement; strong ones defend a real position without arrogance.
6. Which metric or signal did you watch most closely in your last role, and why that one?
Listen for: Whether they connect their work to outcomes — and whether they chose the metric or inherited it.
Every question comes from our annotated banks — see the full sets for follow-ups and usage notes. Ask the same core set of every candidate for a fair comparison.
A question list is preparation; asking them well is a skill. We're building an AI candidate to rehearse on — join early access.
FAQ
How does the interview question generator work?
Pick your interview stage (phone screen, first, second or final round) and the traits you want to test (judgment, leadership, working style, situational, self-awareness). It builds a balanced set from our annotated question banks — every question includes what the answer reveals, so you know what you're listening for.
Are generated questions enough to run a good interview?
They're the spine, not the whole skeleton: add two or three CV-specific questions, ask the same core set of every candidate, follow up at least once per question, and score against a rubric afterwards. Our guide to conducting an interview covers the full structure.
